Rochelle Canoe Obituary

Rochelle Diane Canoe, the daughter of Richard, Sr. and Doris (Daugherty) Canoe was born March 2, 1982 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma and departed this life on July 3, 2020 in Stilwell, Oklahoma. She was 38.

She was preceded in death by both maternal and paternal grandparents, one brother, Richard Dale “Richie” Canoe, Jr; her aunts, Marilyn Canoe-Perez, Janice Cheromiah, Lizzie Flynn, and Emma Eagle; her uncles, Gene Riddle, Price Cochran, Curtis Ray Daugherty, Martin Daugherty, Jerry “Boss” Daugherty, Johnny “Dewey” Daugherty, Tom Flynn, Sr. and Lawrence Eagle; her cousins, Mike Eagle, Bearfoot Daugherty, Donald Flynn, Larry Flynn, Brian Cheromiah and Michal Eagle.

Rochelle was a loving and caring person by nature and she will always be remembered that way by all. Born and raised in the Greasy Community, she attended Greasy School from Kindergarten to 8th grade. After graduating from there, she attended Stilwell High School and graduated in 2000. She was active in both softball and basketball, which she exceled at and gave her all. Rochelle would become the mother of two children and they both would be the center of her world until her very end. She was of the Pentecostal Faith and a childhood member of the Indian Mission Pentecostal Church of God. The life and legacy she was born into we will cherish and remember forever. She will be missed by all who truly knew her.

She is survived by a very loving family which includes, her parents, her daughter, Erin Anderson and companion Sam Phillips, her son, Joshua Lawrence; brothers, Kenny and Charles Canoe; her nieces, Chelsea Canoe-Sanders and husband Chris, Kylee and Kynlee Canoe; her nephews, Kylan Canoe and companion Shelby Knipe, Kynden Canoe and Christoper Canoe; great-niece, Kayda Canoe; aunts, Tippie Canoe-Drain, Cherokee Livers and husband Burl, Caleen Riddle, Neoma Cochran, Louann Eagle and husband Stoney, Jessie Daugherty, Chris Daugherty, Andrea Jones and Brenda Locust; uncles, Felix, Jr. “Bolo” Duncan, Vernon “Wayne” Duncan, “Big” Brian Cheromiah and Pete Perez. Close friends, Kim Mayfield, Terri Dawn Soap, Janita Leach, Tiffany Jones, Marty Kester, Matt Anderson and Nathan Lawrence. A host of cousins, other relatives and many friends also survive her.

A Viewing will be held Monday, July 6, 2020 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Salem Baptist Church of Stilwell, Oklahoma. A Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, July 7, 2020 at 1 p.m. at New Life Church of Stilwell, Oklahoma with Bro. Gary Flynn officiating. Committal to follow in the Salem Cemetery of Stilwell, Oklahoma.
