Johnny Daugherty Obituary

Johnny Wayne “Dewey” Daugherty, the son of Snow and Winnie Mae (Soap) Daugherty, was born April 22, 1947 in Adair County, Oklahoma and passed away peacefully at his home on June 18, 2020 in Stilwell, Oklahoma at the age of 73 years. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Curtis Ray Daugherty, Martin Daugherty, Jerry “Boss” Daugherty; two sisters, Lizzie Flynn and Emma Eagle. 

Dewey married the love of his life, Christine Harper, and to this union two children were born. 

Dewey had a strong love for the Lord and was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Stilwell. He enjoyed listening to gospel music and various preachers during his downtime. Dewey was well known for his hobbies and passions like watching car racing and sports just to name a few. He was a provider for his family working many years for Peterson Industries. A staple to the community, his talents and abilities as a auto mechanic helped many. Dewey’s gifts and service will never be forgotten. 

Left to cherish his memory are, his wife, Chris Daugherty of the home; one daughter, Michelle Barr and husband Roger; one son, Marcus Daugherty; eight grandchildren, Raven McNac, Randi McNac, Whitney Barr, William Barr, Raven Barr, Marisa Barr, Destiny Daugherty, Haylee Daugherty; five great-grandchildren, Naliah Burris, Elijah Burris, Oliver Daugherty, Kaiden Scott, Kyler Scott; three sisters, Neoma Cochran, Louann Eagle and husband Stoney, Doris Canoe and husband Richard; sister-in-law, Jessie Daugherty; two brother-in-law’s, Bennie “Bub” Harper and Greg Harper. Other relatives and many friends also survive him.
