Jeffery Allen Vaughn

Jeffery Allen Vaughn, 50, of Westville, Oklahoma passed away on September 28, 2019 in Stilwell, Oklahoma. He was born to Tommy Dale and Donna (Spinks) on August 28, 1969 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma.

He was preceded in death by his father, Tommy Dale Vaughn; paternal grandparents, Tommy and Henryetta Vaughn; and maternal grandparents, Jennie Reed (Nannie) and Cabbage Reed.

Jeffery grew up in Westville, where he eventually graduated from Westville High School in 1987. He later earned a bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources as well as Animal Science from Oklahoma State University, graduating in December 1994. He was an employee of Simmons Foods for roughly 15 years, working as a Field Technician, and later started his own fishing lure business, Hook’um Up. Jeffery was an avid hunter and fisherman; he also grew fishing worms in addition to running his fishing lure business. He remained a lifelong fan of his alma mater, OSU. He loved being outside, both amongst nature in the woods and on the water. His favorite saying was “Go Big or Go Home.”

He started dating the love of his life, Brenda in January of 2009 and a few short years later the couple were married on August 31st, 2012.

He is survived by his  loving wife, Brenda (Unger) Vaughn, of Westville, Oklahoma; his sons, Tony Lane Vaughn of Heavener, Oklahoma and Caid Allen Vaughn of Colcord, Oklahoma; his stepson, Dexton Davis and his wife Brooke of Westville, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Brexton Lane Davis and Brodyn Tate Davis (Big Shorts); his mother and stepfather, Donna and Foy Willis of Westville, Oklahoma; his special great-uncle, Red; his special aunt Margie and husband Clifton Williams of Westville, Oklahoma; and a host of other cousins and friends who also cherish his memory.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, October 3rd, 2019, from 3 PM – 9 PM at the First Baptist Church of Westville Gymnasium. A Celebration of Life service will be held, Friday, October 4th, 2019, at 1 PM, at the Westville High School’s Auditorium. Following the Celebration of Life service, a committal will be held at the Downing Cemetery in Westville, Oklahoma.
