Harold Johnson Obituary

Harold Dean Johnson, age 76, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 20, 2020, at home in Collinsville, OK. He was born November 1, 1943, in Neosho, Missouri to Charlie and Sarah (Bessie Clark) Johnson.

Harold attended Oklahoma Baptist University, where he played basketball and met his wife, Saralene Nachtigall. They were married twice, once in college and again after 36 years apart, because once was not enough. In between those 36 years, they had families of their own that they combined into one.

Harold served 8 years in the National Guard. Then he went on to have a successful career in sales, which allowed him to travel and make friends, which for him was a life well-lived.

Harold, a lover of bargains and a good story, was known to say “Now, this is a true story!” Which needed to be said because his adventures were not only entertaining but would not happen to just anyone. Whether purchasing 900 Zingers for 3 cents apiece or waking up to only a zipper where his pants had once hung near a campfire! His many stories of adventures and bargains will live on in the hearts and minds of his family and friends.

Harold was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Bessie Johnson; son, Mike Johnson, his wife, Sheila, and grandson; three brothers, Beau Garrison, Charles Johnson, and Bill Johnson; and two sisters, Goldie and Eula.

Harold is survived by his wife, Saralene (Sari) Blackburn Johnson; two sons, Robbie, and wife, Jamie of Perkins, OK and Greer Johnson of Dallas, TX; one daughter, Keri Patton, and husband, Bradley of St Louis, MO; two stepdaughters, Kendra, and husband, Jon of Wichita, KS and Shonda and husband, Clay of Frederick, OK; one brother, David, and wife, Sharon of Springfield, MO; one sister, Barbara Rice of Neosho, MO. His surviving grandchildren are Robert, Tristen, LaRissa, Hannah, Trevor, Avery, Quinn, Lukas, William, Collier, Sophia, Abby, and Dakota along with a host of nieces, nephews, and friends that love him.

Harold had given his heart to Jesus and loved the Lord. He was loved by his family and friends.  Although we may not have been ready to let him go, he was ready to go to heaven.

The family will be having a Celebration of Life Ceremony in the Fall at a date to be decided. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Aruba Community Clinic by visiting https://arubahclinic.com/get_involved/donate/.
