Laura Sue (Bird) Bunch

Laura Sue Bunch, daughter of John and Betty (Smith) Bird, was born September 13, 1941 in Adair County, Oklahoma, and departed this life to be with her Lord and Savior surrounded by her family on May 12, 2019 at the age of 77 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Henry Lee Bunch; two sisters, Janie Grayson, and Lila Gonzales; four brothers, Ocie Bird, Fabian Bird, Sammy Bird, and Wesley Bird; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Laura absolutely loved the Lord with all her heart and her faith was grounded in his promises. She loved attending gospel singings and family gatherings, reading the Bible, picking wild onions, sewing, cooking, cleaning and she enjoyed the view of many flowers. Laura loved spending time with her family and friends. You could always find her watching her children and grandchildren playing sports of all kinds, she was their biggest fan. Most times you could drive by her house and see her resting on the porch or under a shade tree. If you stopped there was a guarantee that she would make you get out, visit and eat, because there was always food on her table. On January 6, 1972 she married the love of her life, George Bunch and for 47 years she attempted to keep him in line. Laura worked for many years at Stilwell Foods, also having small jobs here and there. In most recent years, she enjoyed spending time as a Homemaker.

Left to carry on her legacy, are husband, George Bunch, of the home in Bunch, Oklahoma; nine daughters, Linda Laroque and husband Monte, of Tahlequah, Oklahoma, Joanne Jones and husband John, of Stilwell, Oklahoma, Shelia Bird of Stilwell, Oklahoma, Jennie Bunch, of Bunch, Oklahoma, Georgia Bunch and companion Butch Shell, of Bunch, Oklahoma, Melissa Stahl and husband Rick, of Stilwell, Oklahoma, Carol Roberts and husband Mike, of Stilwell, Oklahoma, Tonya Still and husband Rodney, of Pryor, Oklahoma, Jacqueline Tarin and husband Timothy, of Bunch, Oklahoma; two sons, Dennis Bird and companion Danja Bird, of Stilwell, Oklahoma, Michael Bird and wife Jerri Lynn, of Stilwell, Oklahoma; three brothers, Johnny Bird and wife Shirley, of Stilwell, Oklahoma, Jr. Bird and wife Marcella, of Marble City, Oklahoma, Terry Bird and wife Renee, of Stilwell, Oklahoma; two sisters, Charlene Locust and Shirley Fourkiller, both of Stilwell, Oklahoma; thirty-six grandchildren, forty -five great grandchildren and one great- great granddaughter; one special friend, Lillie Vann. Many nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends also survive her. She will be greatly missed by those left to cherish her memory.

 A visitation will be held Thursday, May 16, 2019 from 1:00pm to 8:00pm at New Life Church, in Stilwell, Oklahoma. Funeral services will be held Friday, May 17, 2019 at 1:00pm in the New Life Church with Bro. Gary Leach officiating. Interment to follow in the Rock Fence Cemetery. The Parsons-Canoe-Beggs Funeral Home, of Collinsville, Oklahoma, has charge of arrangements.
