Glinda Halley, 59, passed away August 18, 2019 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was born April 18, 1960 to James and Fannie Mae Halley in Buford Colony, Oklahoma. She was the sixth of eight children born to this union.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Brenda; nephews, Eljuan and Alvareze; great-nephew, Anthony Jr.; great-niece, Talia and grandson, Devin.
Glinda attended Sand Springs Public Schools from head start through seventh grade, where she did her general studies and participated in the Clyde Boyd Jr. High School Band. As a preteen, she became a member of the Oak Hill Baptist Church congregation. Her family later moved to the city of Tulsa, where she continued her education, grades eighth through twelfth, by way of Alexander Graham Bell Jr. High School and Nathan Hale Senior High School. After high school, she was employed by the Mid-Continent Casualty Company, where she worked as a file clerk for five to six years. She enjoyed music and attending music concerts with her friends. Glinda was quite a jester - she often got a kick from teasing her young nieces and nephews, and telling them all kinds of jokes and stories about things that were not quite correct, leaving them with puzzled faces and hurrying to an adult other than herself to ask what "Aunt Lori" was talking about and whether or not it was true.
Left to cherish her memories are her husband, James Cochrane; sons, Michael (Yvonne), Donnie I, David, and Jamel; grandchildren, Donnie II, Dyhani, Dyhana, Drahe, Denahi, and Quantae; siblings, including two half-sisters, Dorothy Woodard of Atlanta, Pat Thompson, F. Mae, James Jr., Willie Dee, Doris Ann, Rubie (Tyrance), and Randy; nieces and nephews, Anthony, Demario, Donna, Brianne, Jamie, La Toya, James Jr. III, La Tricia (Marlo) of Texas, Willie Jr., Cory, Toya Xan, Jasmine, Keiah, and Tyrance II and sister-in-law, Emma. A host of great-nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends also survive her.
